Have an idea for a petition?

Dear MoveOn member,

About a year ago, MoveOn launched a website called SignOn.org to help anyone to start their own online petition. And since then we've seen thousands of MoveOn members use the site to do truly amazing things.

A community in New York City came together to save their local independent bookstore. A school bus driver in Utah stopped a bill banning sex education in public schools. And a law school graduate wrote a petition calling for student debt forgiveness that went viral and was signed by over one million people—helping convince President Obama to issue an executive order cutting loan debt for millions of families.

It reminds us of how MoveOn started in 1998, when we started our own petition demanding that the Republicans in Congress stop talking about impeaching President Clinton over a sex scandal and "Move On to Pressing Issues Facing the Nation." We had never been involved in politics and were amazed when our one-sentence petition gathered names from across the country from Democrats, Republicans, Independents and more. In retrospect, we think we stepped into a vacuum of leadership.

Now it's your turn. Using SignOn.org, you too can start your own online petition and invite your friends to sign it. We'll send the most popular petitions to other MoveOn members to help build support for your cause.

Click here to start your own petition on SignOn.org right now.

As always, thanks for all you do.
