Dear MegaPhone caller,

I'm still basking in the afterglow of last week's victory. It was a true triumph of people power.

And it wouldn't have happened without you and the MegaPhone program. THANK YOU—it's MegaPhone callers like you who provided strong leadership in every part of our Voters Rising election program. Thanks to your passion and dedication, the hours on the phone paid off—we helped secure four more years for President Obama, hold the Senate, and elect progressive champs like Elizabeth Warren and Chris Murphy. Here's a brief snapshot of what MoveOn members accomplished:

  • MegaPhone callers made 817,885 calls from home, while call parties made 703,770 calls—surpassing our Election Day goal by totaling 1,521,655 calls. That's more calls than we made in 2008!
  • MoveOn Councils, local MoveOn organizing teams, held 729 call parties—recruiting thousands of swing state volunteers to help get out the vote on top of the thousands recruited by MegaPhone callers.

  • In swing states like Ohio, Council and MegaPhone leaders helped Workers' Voice reach a total of 800,000 voters. Even though her power was out the Friday before Election Day, Dawn R., Cleveland Council Organizer, made it into the office to make recruitment calls, taking a few extra numbers when she left to make calls from home—on her birthday! This is just one of countless examples of MoveOn members displaying leadership through example in dozens of local campaign offices.

We have to seize the momentum. There's a major battle brewing in D.C., and we're gearing up to make sure the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% expire and that we protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid benefits from being cut.

There's a lot of misinformation about this fiscal showdown—so there's a special national call just for election volunteers to get the facts and talk about what we can do to fight back. If you're interested in becoming involved in future campaigns, join the Council briefing on the fiscal showdown this Thursday, November 15, at 9 p.m. ET (8 CT / 7 MT / 6 PT / 4 HT).

Click here to sign up for the call and talk about next steps to keep the momentum going!

Thanks for all you do.

–Emily, Victoria, Robin, Adam, and the rest of the team
