You won't believe the choice this judge gave a lesbian mom

Tell Judge Roach: It isn't "moral" to separate a loving family!

Sign the Petition!

Dear MoveOn member,

A Republican Texas judge has ordered a lesbian mother to either separate from her partner or give up custody of her children.

Judge John Roach of McKinney, Texas, has given Carolyn Compton's partner, Page Price, thirty days to move out of the home they share with Carolyn's children from a previous marriage, because he does not approve of Compton and Price's "lifestyle."

Judge Roach's ruling is based on a "morality clause" that he inserted into Carolyn's divorce papers, which forbids her from having anyone she is not related to "by blood or marriage" in her home past 9 p.m. if the children are present.

Because same-sex marriage is illegal in Texas, Compton now cannot live with Price if she wishes to retain custody of her children.

That's why I started a petition to Judge John Roach, which says:

Tell Judge John Roach that morality clauses damage families and have no place in America's courtrooms!

Thanks!
