Florida police shot a Black medical worker

The Florida police officer who shot an unarmed medical worker must be held accountable. Add your name.

Dear MoveOn member,

Charles Kinsey, a mental health worker, was shot in the leg by a police officer in Florida while helping an autistic patient who had wandered away from the medical facility where Kinsey works. At the time he was shot, Kinsey was lying on his back, hands in the air, trying to explain to the responding officer that he and his patient were both unarmed.1

Will you sign this petition to North Miami Police Chief Gary Eugene to demand accountability for the police officer who shot Charles Kinsey?

For too long, the police officers who shoot and attack Black men and woman have failed to be held responsible for their crimes. If the investigation confirms the facts that have been reported, the police officer who shot Charles Kinsey, an unarmed Florida therapist, must be fired and barred from working in the police department ever again.

Kinsey says when he asked the officer why he was shot, the officer responded, "I don't know."

According to a police union statement, the police officer who shot Kinsey, Officer Jonathan Aledda, says he was aiming for the autistic patient and injured Kinsey by mistake. He said, "I did what I had to do."2

The department just suspended Commander Emile Hollant—the officer who radioed in the misinformation that the patient was loading a gun and later lied about it—without pay.3 Suspending these officers is not enough—neither of these officers should be able to put on a uniform again. However, Florida police union contracts and lobbying have made it almost impossible for police officers to be held accountable.

Police violence against Black men and women in our country is an epidemic—the number of Black men and women killed by police each year is staggering. At least 138 Black people have been killed by police already this year. Having police who are unable to make quick judgment calls that de-escalate police encounters is no longer acceptable.4

Our social media feeds and media headlines are filled with horrific stories of police responding with aggression, violence, and domination, instead of engaging in conversation or using de-escalation strategies when interacting with Black men and women.

Police officers who jump to violence must be held accountable and removed from the police force. Failing to do so continues the dangerous tradition of allowing police to act without consequence for the pain and suffering they inflict on Black men and women.

Click here to add your name to this petition, and then pass it along to your friends.

Thank you.

Donald Trump vs. Bernie Sanders supporters

If enough Bernie voters just stay home, it's enough to give Trump an edge—and the presidency.

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

Last week, as Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president, he called on Bernie Sanders supporters to back his candidacy. It's tempting to laugh, but it's actually a smart strategy—and it could even win Trump the White House.

While Bernie supporters won't move to Trump en masse, if enough Bernie voters just stay home, it’s enough to give Trump an edge—and the presidency.

Hillary Clinton, who made history on Thursday night, has embraced a number of Bernie's policies that would make a big difference for millions of people—including a bold, new, affordable higher education proposal which Bernie himself endorsed.2 But Clinton has about a third of Bernie supporters left to try to win over.3 And Bernie supporters have voted less frequently in the past than other 2016 voters.4 These voters could decide the election.

That's why MoveOn has such an important role to play this election cycle.

As the biggest independent progressive group that supported Bernie Sanders, MoveOn is uniquely poised to help turn out those of his supporters who are most likely to stay home in November. Will you chip in $5 a month to help make sure progressive voters in swing states turn out to defeat Trump?

Yes, I'll chip in monthly to help defeat Donald Trump.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

National polls conducted since Trump's acceptance speech are downright terrifying: Trump has taken the lead in many of them.5 These polls and the election data show that—if the election were today—chances are that he would be our 45th president.6

Will you join me in supporting MoveOn’s all-out, highly strategic campaign to engage progressives in this election—and defeat Donald Trump? Your ongoing support will help make this campaign possible through Election Day.

Click here to chip in $5 a month.

Or, if you can't make a monthly donation, click here.

Here’s what your donation will support:

  • Savvy social media to cut through lies and educate voters about the high stakes of this election—complete with rapid-response videos that will be seen and shared tens of millions of times and reach an audience roughly the size of a cable news program.
  • Door-to-door volunteer canvasses in 10 key states, using the proven model MoveOn tested recently in Ohio—because there is no better alternative than human connection as an antidote to hatred and fear.
  • MoveOn spokespeople and MoveOn members on TV—to help create a breakthrough, alternative narrative about what makes America truly great.

Will you help MoveOn ensure that every progressive voter in a swing state who's considering staying home or voting third party this fall knows just how dangerous Donald Trump is by chipping in $5 a month right now?

Yes, I'll chip in monthly to help stop Donald Trump.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Thanks for all you do.

Summon what's best in us

We can't afford progressives to stay home on Election Day.

Dear MoveOn member,

Last night, President Obama delivered what's likely to be remembered as one of his most important speeches.1

Here's his main point and challenge to all of us: We "can't afford to stay home" on Election Day. We can't afford to simply "boo" Donald Trump.2 (That was the President's response to the crowd's reaction to Trump's name.)

We've got to vote. All of us. Every single progressive who cares about our nation. And we've got to make sure that everyone we know votes too. And for us to win, we can't wait until October, when the election is only weeks away. We'll, frankly, be too late. We need to confirm our own voter registration—and register everyone we know—NOW.

That's why MoveOn has teamed up with friends at Vote.org—to turbocharge a rapid-response, online voter registration drive.

Do you have five minutes right now to take two easy but vitally important actions?

Click here now to get started. (If you use the Vote.org tool via this link, Vote.org agrees not to contact you directly, despite what its tool displays.)

Here's what's needed:

  • First, make sure you're registered to vote and that your information is up to date (and register if you aren't). Vote.org makes it easy but please note that the tool is only as good as voter files, which are uneven. So don't be alarmed if you're registered but it tells you that you aren't. Vote.org lets you double check at the state level.
  • Second, forward this email to at least five people you know—and who you want to make sure vote on Election Day.

Imagine the massive online voter registration reach of millions of passionate MoveOn members!

Voter registration is one piece of MoveOn's general election program, which will continue to roll out over the next several weeks. We're registering voters online today, but in the next phase, we'll be in person in key swing states around the country where MoveOn members will be talking with voters who we'll need to turn out in order to win in November.

Just now, Bernie Sanders echoed the President's call to action—saying, "We must elect the Democratic nominee in November and progressive Democrats up and down the ballot so that we ensure that the progressive policy commitments we fought so hard for can advance!"3

Will you help jump-start an online voter registration drive by confirming that you're registered to vote and helping friends and family do the same?

Click here now to get started.

Toward the end of last night's speech, President Obama celebrated the power of organizers, as he's done so many times before.

"You are the best organizers on the planet," he said, "and I’m so proud of all the change you’ve made possible."4 We couldn't have said it better.

Let's join the President in rejecting cynicism and fear. Let's "summon what’s best in us" and win in November.5

Together.

Thanks for all you do.

Eddie, I'm afraid.

What can I tell you about Donald Trump that you don't already know?

Dear fellow MoveOn member,

What can I tell you about Donald Trump that you don’t already know?

Speaking quite personally, I can tell you that I’m afraid.

After headlining the most mob-like, racist, homophobic, and misogynist political convention in my lifetime, Trump’s chances of winning the U.S. presidency actually improved—he's now leading Hillary Clinton in virtually all of polls that have been released since the convention.1 And former New York Times data wizard Nate Silver says there’s a 55.6% chance that if the election were held today, Trump would win.2

Terrifying.

The GOP underestimated Trump. But MoveOn rang the the alarm bell months ago, and as a result has developed a sharp, three-pronged campaign to unite us all against Donald Trump and his hate—and to defeat him on Election Day.

That’s why—once again—I’m teaming up with MoveOn and MoveOn members like you. Will you join me in supporting United Against Hate—MoveOn’s all-out campaign to defeat Donald Trump?

Yes, I'm in. I'll chip in $3.

If you're like me, perhaps somewhere in the back of your mind, you imagined that Donald Trump would just implode. Be laughed out of the race. Or fall apart like the bad apple he is.

But that’s just the thing. Bad apples don’t fall apart before rotting everything else around them. And Trump’s candidacy has legitimized—and is now propelled by—the very worst of humanity.

Here are two examples of many:

  • The so-called #PartyOfTrump now includes people like the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke, who said he was inspired by Trump to run for the United States Senate.3
  • Vladimir Putin, the Russian autocrat, is delighted that Trump wouldn’t automatically defend the Baltics, our NATO allies, from a possible Russian takeover.4

We’ve got to stop this guy. And he can’t just lose by a narrow margin in November. We have to hand Trump a resounding defeat—big enough to publicly renounce the ugliness he’s unleashed and squelch the surging energy of white supremacists in America who are taking inspiration from his campaign.

Will you join me in supporting United Against Hate—MoveOn’s all-out, highly coordinated campaign to defeat Donald Trump and unite us all in a hopeful vision for our nation?

Click here to chip in $3 right now.

  • MoveOn spokespeople and MoveOn members on TV—your donation will help create a breakthrough, alternative narrative about what makes America truly great.

I could keep going. But while I’ll never be short on words, we are short on time, friends. As we enter the Democratic National Convention, the situation is urgent. We have 104 days.

MoveOn has marshaled all its forces and has the plan we need. But it won’t happen, let me repeat, it will not happen without your support.

Please chip in $3 now to defeat Donald Trump in November.

It’s in our hands. And, as President Lincoln said in his famous first inaugural address: Here’s to the to “better angels of our nature.” Here’s to Election Day 2016, when we need to make sure that they—and we—prevail.

Thanks for all you do.

Bernie

Bernie Sanders took the stage at the Democratic Convention amidst raucous applause and announced his next goal for the political revolution that fueled his historic presidential campaign

Dear MoveOn member,

Last night, Senator Bernie Sanders took the stage at the Democratic National Convention amidst raucous applause and announced his next goal for the political revolution that fueled his historic presidential campaign: "Our job now is to see [the progressive Democratic] platform implemented by a Democratic Senate, a Democratic House, and a Hillary Clinton presidency—and I am going to do everything I can to make that happen."1

Bernie left no room for doubt: Donald Trump is unfit to be president, the stakes of this election are too high to risk letting Trump take us backward. And he plainly called upon all of us, including his most enthusiastic supporters, to help elect Hillary Clinton—“based on her ideas and her leadership”—for the sake of the progressive issues his candidacy brought into the mainstream.

Van Jones has some bad news

A higher minimum wage, debt-free college for all, a public option for health care, serious work combating climate change, and a push to overturn Citizens United—those were some of the issues many of us fought for by supporting Bernie's campaign, issues which Bernie spoke about from the stage last night.

"We produced, by far, the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic Party," Bernie proudly declared. And now he's committed to fighting for that platform—both in this election and in the work in the Senate beyond November.

MoveOn members provided Bernie with his biggest grassroots endorsement at a key moment in the campaign. Now MoveOn members are ready to work tirelessly alongside Bernie to defeat Donald Trump and his divisive, bullying, hateful politics—by electing Hillary Clinton as we continue to fight for Bernie's agenda and ours.

Thanks for all you do.

BREAKING: Trump surges in the polls

Support for Donald Trump has SURGED following the Republican convention, with the last four public polls showing the Republican presidential nominee defeating Hillary Clinton.

Dear MoveOn member,

Support for Donald Trump has SURGED following the Republican convention, with four of the most recent public polls showing the Republican presidential nominee defeating Hillary Clinton by an average of two to three points.1

And former New York Times statistician Nate Silver—who predicted state-by-state returns in 2012 with 100% accuracy—is now predicting that if the election were held today, Trump would have a 55.9% chance of winning.2

As impossible as all of this sounds, it’s what is happening in this country, which is why we need you to pitch in to our emergency campaign to counter Trump’s surge in the polls.

Will you make an urgent contribution today to help us get progressives off the sidelines in this election, especially in swing states like Ohio and Pennsylvania?

Yes, I'll chip in $3 right now to help stop Donald Trump.

This is a critical week for our efforts. Trump is ramping up his fundraising and mobilizing in the swing states, while Democrats meet in Philadelphia for the convention. We cannot afford to allow this Trump surge to grow or become permanent.

With your help, we will:

  • Use social media to educate voters about what's at stake, with videos that will be seen tens of millions of times. We're on track to reach an audience equivalent to that of a cable news TV show, without a dime of corporate advertising.
  • Launch door-to-door volunteer canvasses using in-person conversations, which are proven to be one of the most effective ways to get out the vote and swing elections. We've just finished our proof-of-concept canvass in Ohio, and we're gearing up to roll it out in 10 key states.
  • Get MoveOn spokespeople and MoveOn members on TV to reach millions of Americans about just how much is at stake. MoveOn staff were interviewed by national TV networks multiple times outside of the Republican National Convention last week, and we've already been on CNN, Fox, and MSNBC three times at the Democratic National Convention. But we need your help to invest more in media pitching, training, and staffing, so that we can get our spokespeople and MoveOn members in front of voters from now through Election Day with the messaging that our research and polling have shown can mobilize key voters who could decide the election.

Can we count on you to send an emergency contribution to help us defeat Donald Trump?

Yes, I'll chip in $3 right now to help keep Trump out of the White House.

Thanks for all you do.

VIDEO: KKK and Trump's Republican Party

Former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke, declared his candidacy as a Republican for Senate in Louisiana the day after Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination.

Dear MoveOn member,

The day after Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination, the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke, declared his candidacy as a Republican for Senate in Louisiana.

This isn't a coincidence. In his announcement, Duke stated that Trump's campaign has helped push Duke's ideas—which are rooted in racism, anti-Semitism, anti-immigrant fervor, and the politics of bigotry and division—into the national political discourse.1

Please watch and share this 90-second video that shows the connection between Trump's campaign and KKK leader David Duke's racist, bigoted politics—so that everyone understands the ties between Trump's Republican Party and white supremacists—and voters soundly reject them in November.

Reject Shell's latest toxic proposal

Dear MoveOn member,

I'm Adam Garber of the organization PennEnvironment, and I started a petition to Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, which says:

The last thing western Pennsylvania needs is another major air polluter. Please put public health first and reject Shell's ethane cracker permit.

Western Pennsylvania is already plagued by poor air quality and resulting health problems like asthma and high rates of cancer—yet Shell is trying to build a massive ethane cracker plant in Beaver County.1

Call on the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to put public health first and reject Shell's ethane cracker permit.

Click here to add your name to this petition, and then pass it along to your friends.

Thanks!

There's no going back (Donald Trump)

Donald Trump just accepted the Republican presidential nomination. There is no going back. He's going to be the nominee—just one step away from being president of the United States, and we have to do everything in our power to stop him.

Dear MoveOn member,

The reality is this: Trump was surging in the polls BEFORE the convention.1 And former New York Times data wizard Nate Silver—who picked every single state with 100% accuracy in 2012—is estimating that this week, the Republican National Convention (even as crazy as it's been), could give Trump a 4 point gain in the polls.2 That’s enough to put Trump in the lead against Hilary Clinton.

We're running an emergency campaign to counter the bounce Trump is expected to get from his speech. Will you send an urgent contribution now to help our team mobilize in swing states to counter any bounce Trump gets from tonight’s speech?

Yes, I'll chip in $2.70 right now to help stop Donald Trump.

The next few days are going to be critical. Trump’s campaign will be ramping up, and with the Democratic National Convention happening next week, we cannot afford to become complacent. Stopping Trump will take all of us—including independent organizations like MoveOn.

  • Get MoveOn spokespeople on TV—to reach millions of Americans about just how just much is at stake. We've been interviewed by TV stations multiple times outside of the Republican National Convention this week, but we need your help to invest more in media pitching, training, and staffing, so that we can get in front of voters from now through Election Day with the messaging that our research and polling have shown can mobilize key voters who could decide the election.

Will you make an emergency contribution to help us defeat Donald Trump?

Yes, I'll chip in $2.70 right now to help stop Donald Trump.

Thanks for all you do.

Mike Pence: A personal story

I don't even want to think about what might have happened to her under Mike Pence's vision for America. We can't ever let that come to pass.

Dear MoveOn member,

With Mike Pence poised to take the stage tonight to formally accept the GOP nomination for vice president, I can't stop thinking about a bill he signed into law just months ago as governor of Indiana.

The bill makes abortion illegal in the case of fetal abnormalities.1

You see, a little less than six years ago, I was newly pregnant with twins, when my doctor told me that one of the fetuses had Trisomy 18—a genetic disorder that affects nearly every organ system in the body.2 Half of babies born with the disorder die within their first week of life; the median lifespan is five to 15 days.3 There’s a high risk of miscarriage or stillbirth with Trisomy 18—which put my other twin at risk, since I could go into labor very early or face other serious complications.

After my doctor explained my options and the risks, I made an anguished but clear decision to have a "selective reduction"—an abortion of the fetus with Trisomy 18, which would have been illegal under Pence’s law—to save my baby.

About seven months later, I delivered a healthy, nearly 9 pound baby girl. My daughter is now five years old. She is strong, kind, and sings constantly.

I don't even want to think about what might have happened to her under Mike Pence's vision for America. And we can't ever let that come to pass. That's why we have to do everything we can to keep Donald Trump out of the White House.

Will you chip in $3 now to MoveOn's campaign to keep Trump and Pence out of the White House?

Yes, I'll chip in now.

If you think Trump and Pence can't win, I beg you to take them seriously.

In addition to being a very proud mom, I'm a political junkie and a campaign director at MoveOn. I've been poring over the polls, and they are not looking good. Of the last five national polls released this week, all five were within the margin of error—meaning it's a tight race.4

MoveOn is working to counter the spin that Pence is a cool-headed, proven leader who balances Trump’s ticket, when in reality, he makes it even more extreme. Most voters don't yet know who Pence is, so we need to get the facts out right now.

That's why I'm sharing my story. Up until now, only a handful of my very close family and friends knew I was ever pregnant with twins. But we just can't stay silent or sit on the sidelines, given how much is at stake.

Please chip in $3 to MoveOn now to help stop the disaster of a Trump-Pence White House.

Pence has said, "I long for the day Roe v. Wade is sent to the ash heap of history.”5

And that's not all. In addition to rabidly opposing abortion rights, Pence thinks that women who work cause their children to have "stunted emotional growth."6 When he was in Congress, he sponsored the very first bill to defund Planned Parenthood—and then he continued to push for the legislation year after year.7 And Pence doesn't think women in the military should be in combat roles.8

So it's no surprise that Pence is the vice presidential pick of a man who once said, “Women, you have to treat them like shit.”9

For my daughter—and for girls and women everywhere—we must stop these two dangerous men from getting to the White House.

Join me now by chipping in $3.

Thanks for all you do.

Our response to the RNC

We knew the Republican National Convention was coming to Ohio. And two months ago, local Ohio organizers reached out to us wanted to do something proactive in response to the hate mongering of the RNC setting up shop on their turf.

Dear MoveOn member,

For months, we've known the Republican National Convention was coming to Ohio—and sure enough, it arrived last night complete with angry rhetoric against immigrants and Muslims, plagiarism, and tirades against political correctness. We can only expect more of the same—or worse—over the nights ahead.

But this past weekend, MoveOn members and local organizers across Ohio had a bold and uplifting response to the Republican convention: #OhioAgainstHate—a door-to-door campaign where Ohio neighbors spoke to each other about the importance of voting against Donald Trump and his hate, bigotry, and xenophobia.

#OhioAgainstHate brought out many first-time canvassers who eagerly spoke to neighbors, voters, and even their former students!

Pokémon Go isn't the only thing bringing millennials out to the sidewalk; #OhioAgainstHate attracted our two youngest canvassers, Marta and Emma (pictured below). They're millennials who want to ensure Trump doesn't make it to the White House and who understand the power of young people in this election.

From coffee shops to a local fabric store, small business owners who cared about the messages of unity and love we were looking to spread throughout Ohio donated most of the meet-up spots for our canvassers. And our volunteers looked fabulous in their #OhioAgainstHate swag.

#OhioAgainstHate even had the support of former Ohio state senator Nina Turner, who came out to canvass on Friday afternoon and left a message for how the RNC should behave while in her hometown of Cleveland.

Not only did MoveOn members and our allies reach out to thousands of voters in Ohio, we trended on Twitter in Ohio and Twitter even selected #OhioAgainstHate as one of its big "moments" of the day—which means millions more people heard our message of voting to stop Trump.

Research shows that face-to-face voter outreach is most cost-effective way to persuade voters. That's why we're getting ready to apply the lessons we learned in Ohio—from how to harness social media attention to maximizing the impact of new technology—nationally. Our goal? To launch grassroots voter mobilizations in the 10 battleground states that will not only decide the presidential race, but also decide who controls the Senate—and maybe even the House.

To pull it all off, we need your ongoing support. Will you help out with $3 a month?

Yes, I'll make a monthly donation to help ramp up MoveOn's actions to defeat Trump and his message of hate, take back the Senate, and involve more voters in the election.

No, I can't become a monthly donor today.

We hope this glimpse into the powerful organizing of everyday Ohioans in response to the Republican National Convention was a good chance to take a break from the constant barrage of division and hate coming out of the RNC. If you enjoyed reading about #OhioAgainstHate and feel like more people should see this, forward it to five of your friends or family members.

Thanks for all you do.

Stop bobcat and wolf fur export!

Thousands of bobcat and wolf pelts are exported every year. We need a public review of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's export program now.

Dear MoveOn member,

I'm Sarah Goeth of the Western Environmental Law Center (WELC), and I started a petition to President Barack Obama, which says:

We need a public review of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's export program, which facilitates the export of thousands of bobcat and wolf pelts each year, and continues to operate without environmental oversight. To date, the Fish and Wildlife Service has refused to carefully consider the environmental impacts of not only the bobcat and wolf pelt export, but the effect on other species that are also caught and killed in traps.

Under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regulates the export of animal pelts. The Service has illegally failed to evaluate the export program, resulting in the trapping and killing of native and endangered species.1

Click here to add your name to this petition, and then pass it along to your friends.

Thanks!

FW: Meet Mike Pence

It's official: This morning, Donald Trump formally introduced Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate.

Hi Eddie!—It's official: This morning, Donald Trump formally introduced Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate. There isn't a moment to lose. We've already raised more than $50,000 for our emergency campaign to make sure America hears the truth about Mike Pence. Your urgent contribution will help us hit our goal of $100,000 by Monday. Can we count on you to help out?

Yes, I'll chip in $2.70 right now to help expose Mike Pence as a right-wing ideologue.

For more information on our emergency campaign, see Ilya's email from Thursday night, below:

Dear MoveOn member,

Donald Trump just selected Indiana Governor Mike Pence for vice president.1 And that means that the next five days could be the most important of Trump's entire campaign.

You see, Republicans want to use Gov. Pence to make it seem like Trump is prepared to govern. Pence was in Congress for 10 years, was the 4th highest ranking member in House leadership, and has been the governor of Indiana since 2013.

What Republicans don't want people to know is that Gov. Pence is one of the most extreme right-wing politicians in America.

Pence signed the notorious "license to discriminate" bill allowing businesses to deny service to LGBT people.2 He's so extreme on abortion that he voted for legislation that would give personhood rights to embryos and defund Planned Parenthood.3

He even compared Obamacare to the 9/11 attacks and threatened to block Hurricane Katrina reconstruction unless it was offset by cuts to Medicare, the National School Lunch Program, and PBS.4,5

That's why we're launching an emergency campaign to make sure America knows the truth about Mike Pence—and we're aiming to raise $100,000 to make it happen. Will you chip in $2.70 to help make sure America hears the truth about Trump's VP selection?

Yes, I'll chip in.

We need to make sure the American people know the truth about Gov. Mike Pence—and what a Trump-Pence administration would mean. So here's what we have planned:

  • We're putting our new Video Lab team to work to produce a video that we'll push out to social networks immediately. We need to ensure that millions of voters learn the truth about Donald Trump and Mike Pence's dangerous plans to divide this country. Our recent videos have been seen by more than 15 million people; we're operating at a scale that can have a real impact.
  • We'll ramp up massive, independent, door-to-door volunteer canvasses. Our team is already on the ground in Ohio, preparing to knock on doors this weekend. In-person conversations are one of the most effective ways to get out the vote and swing elections. With your help, we can roll this program out in other battleground states and ensure that key constituencies—young voters, people of color, women, and others who might need extra encouragement to vote—understand the stakes of this election and vote.
  • We'll leverage social media to spread important information to millions of progressives between now and Election Day. Already, we've launched an aggressive campaign to tell the truth about Donald Trump, and we must redouble our efforts now that he's selected his running mate. For the next 116 days, MoveOn will continue making timely videos and graphics for social media networks that will be seen tens of millions of times. While cheaper than TV ads, this can still be costly, and we need your support to keep this program running.

With the Republican message machine up revving up to pitch Trump's selection to the American people, we don't have much time to get this campaign off the ground. Will you chip in $2.70?

Yes, I'll chip in.

The next five days are crucial for the future of America. Every day from now through next week's Republican National Convention, Republicans will be selling him as proof that Donald Trump can be trusted with the most powerful office in the land.

But if we can get out front and define Mike Pence for the American people the same way we defined Mitt Romney in 2012, we can make Mike Pence backfire on Donald Trump the same way Sarah Palin backfired on John McCain.

We can't count on the media to tell the truth. It's up to us to set the record straight. Will you chip in $2.70 to help defeat Donald Trump and Mike Pence?

Yes, I'll chip in.

Thanks for all you do.
