Reportback: MoveOn members responded to Trump's obstruction of justice

On Wednesday, MoveOn members and allies across the country responded loudly, visibly, and immediately to a growing constitutional crisis: Trump's obstruction of justice by firing of the director of the FBI

Dear MoveOn member,

On Wednesday, MoveOn members and allies across the country responded loudly, visibly, and immediately to a growing constitutional crisis: Trump's obstruction of justice by firing of the director of the FBI, who was conducting the only sustained criminal investigation into Trump's Russia ties.

In the 24 hours after news broke, 250,000 MoveOn members signed a petition calling for an independent investigation, more than 10,000 called the U.S. Senate, at least 500 people came out in Washington, D.C., for an emergency rally at the White House, and many more MoveOn members joined flash actions outside Senate offices around the country. In some places, it was a handful of members making noise; in others, it was hundreds flooding the streets—and in aggregate, it was an important sign of national energy to demand a full investigation and accountability for Donald Trump and his administration.

Sound the Alarm!

This story is growing, and so will our actions. Wednesday's actions sent a clear message that MoveOn members are ready to fight for the truth and for our democracy. And whether we are pushing Republicans to join the call for an independent investigation or calling Democrats to do all they can to shut down the business of the Senate until we learn the truth, we will confront this obstruction of justice and get the full story of the Trump team's Russian entanglements.

Thanks for all you do.
