Six months ago, no one thought that Democrats had a chance to win control of the Senate. Now, it looks as if it just might happen—starting with Alabama.
Here’s the simple math: To take back the Senate, Democrats need to pick up three seats. Arizona and Nevada look like two good opportunities.
But to win that all-important third seat, we’ll need to pull off an upset in a red state like Texas, Tennessee ... or Alabama. And the latest polls say that the Alabama race is way too close to call.1
If Democrats can win control of the Senate next year, here’s what will happen:
- Republicans will no longer have the votes to ram through legislation like the GOP tax scam on straight party-line votes.
- Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer—not Mitch McConnell—will control the Senate calendar, moving forward votes on a progressive agenda and not rushing through attacks on health care or confirmations of extreme judges.
- Democrats will chair key committees, allowing us to hold the Trump administration accountable and conduct important oversight.
In other words: If Democrats win the Senate, Trump’s agenda is in deep, deep trouble.
Polls show that this race is within reach for Doug Jones—in fact, this election is too close to call. Will you chip in $3 to help Doug win this crucial Senate race?
